French’s Point is situated near Stockton Springs in the mid-coast region, with excellent local options for dining, shopping, galleries, and recreational activities. Picturesque nearby coastal villages include Castine, Camden, Rockport, Belfast, Bucksport, Blue Hill, and Ellsworth.
Fly into Bangor International Airport, ME (BGR, our recommendation), a 40-minute drive from French’s Point. You can also fly into Portland, ME; Boston, MA; or Portsmouth, NH. Because the area is relatively rural, a rental car could be useful. Bus, taxi, and car services are also available in the region, but limited.
Bangor International Airport
There are daily flights from NYC and many other airports and Bangor is about 40 minutes away. We recommend renting a car or booking a taxi in advance.
Portland International Jetport
There are more daily flights into Portland. If you plan to fly to Portland we recommend renting a car for the weekend. The drive to French’s Point is 2.5 hours.
The Homeport Inn
This is a Bed & Breakfast 15 minutes from French's Point. 10 rooms at the inn are available to book on a first come first serve basis.
Captain Nickels Inn
Captain Nickels is another Bed & Breakfast, directly next to the Homeport Inn.
Built in 1874 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the inn is named after its first owner, Captain Albert V. Nickels, who resided here with his wife Elizabeth and their eight children.
Steamboat Wharf Cabins
These six little cabins are perfect for 1-2 people and are a 15 min walk (3 min drive) from the venue.
The cabins are ~$200 per night and can be booked by emailing steamboatwharfcabins@gmail.com.

For larger groups or guests intending to turn their time in Maine into a vacation, a rental home or cottage is an ideal option. This area offers a wide array of privately owned family homes and cottages available for rent, with several located on the road leading onto French’s Point.
