Just across the bay from French’s Point, or a 30 minute drive, is the picturesque town of Castine where Hannah’s grandmother, Diane, lived for 30 years. The quaint, historic village traces its origins back to the 1600’s and is well-known today for its mature Elm Trees and beautifully preserved historic homes. It is also home to the Maine Maritime Academy and Dyce Head Lighthouse. You can explore the town on your own or through a guided tour by land with Castine Touring Company or by sea aboard Lil’ Toot with Castine Harbour Tours (207)701-1421.

At Young’s Lobster Pound & Seafood Restaurant, they are known for their fresh delicious Maine lobster and seafood dishes. Their restaurant overlooks Penobscot Bay offering indoor or outside deck seating. They serve lunch and dinner and allow you to bring your own wine or beer. Eat in – take out – and pick your own lobster from their 30,000 lb. compacity aquarium.

Acadia National Park is home to some of the absolute best hiking in Maine. It is also located in one of the best travel locations in the state, Bar Harbor. For any guests who are looking to explore Maine, we recommend tacking on a visit to Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park either before or after our wedding weekend. We promise you will not regret it!

Just down the road from French's Point, this park has a long stretch of sandy beach with two miles of trails through fields, woodlands and marsh.
